Management

Dan Bassichis, Special Advisor

Dan is the co-founder of Admiral Capital Group, a real estate private equity firm formed with David Robinson, formerly of the San Antonio Spurs. Prior to forming Admiral Capital, Dan spent three years in real estate investment banking at Goldman Sachs, completing over $15 billion of real estate financing and advisory transactions. He is a board member of The Carver Academy in San Antonio and a past board member of the Board of Visitors at the Fuqua School of Business.

Dan is a CPA, received his B.B.A from Emory University and an M.B.A. from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. As a key contributor to the formation of the Admiral Center, Dan’s involvement continues as a Special Advisor during the initial start-up phase.

Evelyn Burnett, Program Associate

Evelyn possesses a solid background in public relations, marketing and sales with a strong emphasis on relationship-building, data and project management, and creating strategic alliances. Prior to joining Living Cities, Evelyn served as project director in the city of Cleveland’s Office of Sustainability, and as a coordinator in the Division of Workforce and Economic Development at Cuyahoga Community College. Originally from Youngstown, Ohio, Evelyn is an active member of Great Lakes Urban Exchange, and sits on the boards and committees of several organizations throughout Northeast Ohio.

Evelyn holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business and Organizational Communications & Public Relations with a double minor in Sales & Marketing and Dance from The University of Akron; and a master’s degree in Public Administration from The University of Akron.

Mali Locke, Program Strategies Director

Mali brings years of experience in impact grantmaking to her position of Program Strategies Director for the Admiral Center. For five years, she was a Senior Program Officer, Education for the Robin Hood Foundation. Prior to Robin Hood, Mali was a Special Assistant to the Regional Superintendent after the first reorganization of the New York City Department of Education.

Mali has a bachelor's degree in French Literature from Yale University, a certificate in Nonprofit Management from Columbia Business School's Institute for Nonprofit Management and a master's degree in Organizational Change Management from the New School. She is the president of the board for Urban Word NYC, a literary arts nonprofit, and an advocate for Autism Speaks.

Hannah Wilson, Member Services Coordinator

Hannah combines her studies of sports and media with a background in nonprofit fundraising, event planning and program work as member services coordinator for the Admiral Center. She began her career with Cathe & Associates and Our Piece of the Pie in Hartford, Conn., working on employment and diversity training for at-risk youth. Hannah has also worked for EdVestors, a philanthropic organization that connects urban schools in Boston and Lowell, Mass., with private funds. She spent her graduate residency with W.W. Grainger in the Corporate Communications & Investor Relations departments, where Hannah developed a pilot program for employee volunteerism and civic involvement.

Hannah received her M.S. in Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) from Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. In addition, Hannah has a degree in Public Relations & Marketing Communications and Spanish from Simmons College in Boston. Hannah currently serves as the director of communications for the African American Alumnae/i Association.
