- Contributed $10 million to found The Carver Academy
- Robinson is the namesake of the NBA’s Community Assist Award which has the inscription “Following the standard set by NBA Legend David Robinson who improved the community piece by piece.” The award is given out monthly by the league to recognize players for their charitable efforts.
- Robinson was awarded the Children's Champion Award from the Children's Hunger Fund in 2010 for his philanthropic efforts.
- Robinson was inducted in 1998 into the World Sports Humanitarian Hall of Fame
- Robinson was honored with The Sporting News 1999 Good Guys in Pro Sports Award
- In 1991, Robinson gave $108,000 to the "I Have a Dream Foundation" to ensure the college education of 90 fifth graders.
